Beginnings
The story of this venture begins over a decade ago when a father and son began to make frequent surf trips to Fiji. During their visits they loved immersing themselves in the culture, and making friends with the beautiful people. As the years passed, they formed a strong bond with a Fijian family, who were situated in a small village, Naiviivi, on Qamea Island. Welcoming them with open arms, the Fijian family introduced them to life in the village, which was very different from what they were use to. Despite the beauty and serenity of the village, living there had its limitations, and life could be tough. This presented an opportunity for them to give back, and do some good for the families in the village.

Qamea Kava is Born
The support grew into a partnership, and from this partnership, Qamea Kava was born. Farming in the remote islands of the South Pacific is extremely challenging. Using only sustainable traditional methods, proven for generations, to be the best. All natural, no chemicals and all the work done by hand. It takes a strong, dedicated, ingenious group of workers to nurture the Kava plants from shoots to grand 5 year old plants. That's what Qamea Kava represents. Hard working Fijians, battling the ever changing challenges of climate change - more extreme events more often - to bring to the market the best quality Kava possible. Through multiple direct hit cyclones, we have managed to succeed, and bring our grand 5 year old treasures to harvest.
